Summer eyewear means Italia Independent
Italia Independent dedicates the world’s first photoluminescent eyewear to Pacha Ibiza, the home of nightclubs since the ‘60s and the location for 24-hour-a-day entertainment and dancing: without doubt, it is the perfect place for the first eyewear than can be worn all day long.
The model chosen for the operation is 000b, Italia Independent’s best selling aviator model that sums up the know-how of a totally Made in Italy brand: tradition, contemporaneousness, craftsmanship and innovation are skillfully mixed to create the only product of its kind.
This model is a reinterpretation of an iconic shape in Italian eyewear. It features steel temples and a front piece and end pieces painted with special pigments that store UV light, which is then released in the dark. The eyewear comes in three colors: light blue with shaded light blue lenses, orange with semitransparent lenses in the same color, and gold with mirrored gold lenses. The Pacha Ibiza cherry symbol is printed on the lenses and the Italia Independent logo is on the inside of the temples with the words “Special Tribute to Pacha Ibiza”.
Italia Independent is also at Formentera’s ultra-famous Chezz Gerdi, with a temporary store, dedicated eyewear an I-I table in the restaurant. I-I has dedicated model 090 in fluorescent velvet to the celebrated chiringuito on Es Pujol beach. Sunglasses 090 in velvet, the top model in the I-wear 2011 collection, are a reinterpretation of the iconic Italian eyewear shape with a velvet effect. Italia Independent is the first company in the eyewear market to introduce the “velvet” effect to its range of eyewear treatments. The surface of the eyewear feels as soft as if it were coated in velvet. Apart from giving the eyewear a unique texture, the treatment also has the special characteristic of being scratch-resistant. Made exclusively for Chezz Gerdi, the sunglasses come in fluorescent yellow, orange and fuchsia with pearl white temples and logos in the same color as the front piece. The inside of the temples also has the Chezz Gerdi logo.
