The first ever Miss Optics winner is now known!
They know eye-glass frames and lenses from A to Z. They will unmistakably advice on whether it is rose-colored, black or mirror sunglasses you should see the world through. Besides, they are strikingly beautiful, they are fine singers and dancers and they shine wit and creativeness. All of the twelve Miss Optics finalists are best of the best, and diamonds of the diamonds. However, only one of them is destined to become Queen.
A year-long road to the finals ran through several stages of on-line voting and two live semifinal shows. Passions ran high and the fans fretted and fumed as the girls were preparing for the final appearance on the stage.
The tasks for the final rounds were still more complicated than those in the semifinals. The girls had less than two months to prepare their optional 3-minute stage appearance. The costumes and props were provided by the promoters who were ready to spare no efforts to help the beauties who decided to conquer the public not only with their looks but also with artistry! The finalists sang, danced flamenco, performed Brazilian Capoeira, Belly Dance, jaunty Russian folk dances and impressed judges and audience with elegant Jazz Modern and Step Up. The performance was preceded by the contenders’ brief speech where they had to talk on “My Business Area is Optics”/ “Why I Love This Business”. And the contestants’ parade in white dresses became a dramatic point in the event, though leaving the main question of crown winner unanswered.
The judges found a problem making choice, since several girls had almost equal chances. After a long debate, the jury announced its verdict: Antonina Simonenko from Omsk has become Queen of Optical Industry! Apart from being crowned, she was awarded the Main Prize – a legendary pearly FIAT 500 in the style of Enni Marco, the “Miss Optics” main sponsor. She could hardly believe that she was a salesgirl in the optical shop yesterday and won the audience’s applause today; such twist of fate has made the girl numb (for a while).
However, Miss Optics was not the only beauty who won honors, for Antonina’s runners up got their awards too:
Alyona Zotova from Nizhniy Novgorod and Yuliya Luzhina from Chelyabinsk were pronounced Vice-Miss;
Oksana Vtyurina from Moscow was announced Internet Vice-Miss;
Mariya Chilikina from Kazan won the Miss Public Affection Award;
Yana Logunova from Yekaterinburg won the NSA Optik Prize;
Oksana Vtyurina from Moscow won the NJ Salon Special Prize.
It came as an unexpected but pleasant surprise that after count up of all votes was made, the jury decided to award the Vice-Miss title to two contestants.
Beside FIAT 500, the Main Prize, the finalists and their companies were given a variety of presents. Guided tours, professional trainings, vouchers to buy clothes, jewelry and souvenirs were pouring as from cornucopia.
