On the 14 th of December in Russia, Moscow was the second semifinal of “Miss optics 2010” contest. It was amazing blending of beauty contest and trade event, which left no one indifferent. Beauty and talent of the competitors of the semifinal made the jury difficult choose. Only 6 girls from the 12 will continue contest for the final.

“Miss Optica” is an optics industry contest designed to promote the professions of optical vision correction workers and attract youth to the industry. Within the framework of the contest the industry’s best representatives are selected against a set of appearance, intellectual and communication parameters. The contest involves over 5000 optical companies in Russia. The target audience: girls employed in the field of optical vision correction, unrestricted to profession and age.

The main sponsor and inspirer of the contest is the Enni Marco trademark. An international partner and Europe’s largest optics exhibition MIDO is among the contest sponsors. The year-long contest includes several stages which consist of an absentee on-line voting, real performance semifinals and a final. The semifinalists are selected by the results of the absentee on-line voting. The finalists are picked in the real performance semi-finals.
Thereafter, in the final, from among the 12 participants who passed the first and the second semi finals 3 participants are chosen which take the 3 prize-winning places.
