Sequential Brands acquires Revo from Luxottica

Yehuda Shmidan, CEO: "We are very pleased to add Revo to our brand portfolio" Listed US eyewear company Sequential Brands Group Inc. has bought the Revo brand from Oakley, a Luxottica group company, for $ 20 million.   At the same time, Sequential Brands has signed a long-term license agreement with eyewear company B. Robinson for the manufacture and distribution of Revo sunglasses and associated products.   The company has also set up a long-term partnership with Sunglass Hut for the continued distribution of the brand to the stores owned by Luxottica. "We are very pleased to add Revo to our brand portfolio" - Sequential Brands Group CEO Yehuda Shmidman commented in an official communication. "Together with B. Robinson we intend to preserve the brand's DNA with regard to eyewear manufacture and the introduction of new product categories that we think will adapt perfectly to the spirit of the brand".   Sequential Brands already owns such brands as William Rast, People's Liberation, DVS, Heelys, Caribbean Joe and Ellen Tracy and closed the first six months with revenues of $ 6 million compared to $ 2.1 million during the same period in 2012.   This is the fourth acquisition by the US company after the Ellen Tracy and Caribbean Joe brands last March and Heelys in January.
