
ClearlyContacts.ca Changes Ecommerce Procedures
The Canadian online eyewear retailer is taking a new approach Canadian online eyewear retailer ClearlyContacts.ca, a subsidiary of Coastal.com purchased this past April by Essilor International, has announced that it will be making significant changes to its ecommerce procedures. The company has stated that it is removing shipping and handling fees for eyeglass customers and has also stopped its "First Pair Free" offer. "We are constantly improving our customer experience so that every customer touch point adds value," says Lawrence Scotland, Canada marketing manager for ClearlyContacts.ca. These are not the only changes made since the company was bought by Essilor. Founder and former CEO Roger Hardy moved to an advisory position and Gary Collins stepped down as president. It has been reported that Roy Hessel, former CEO of EyeBuyDirect.com and head of Essilor's ecommerce arm for the past couple of years, will become Coastal.com's new top local executive.
