Ophthalmic Lens Manufacturing in Thailand Unaffected by Military Coup
BANGKOK—Last week's military coup in Thailand has not interrupted ophthalmic lens production in that country, according to industry sources. Although the situation there was still unstable at press time, three of the lens makers who operate lens manufacturing plants in and around Bangkok— Vision-Ease Lens, Essilor and Hoya Vision Care—told VMail that it's "business as usual" there. "Day to day operations are not impacted by the political situation in Thailand.
