VisionCare Ophthalmic Technologies Announces Management Promotions

SARATOGA, Calif.— VisionCare Ophthalmic Technologies, Inc., a developer of advanced visual prosthetic devices, including implantable miniature telescopes, for the treatment of age-related macular degeneration, announced two promotions within its management team. Chet Kumar has been appointed vice president, sales and market development. Kumar most recently was the company's vice president, market and business development.   Also, VisionCare announced the promotion of Reena Mishra to senior director of marketing. Kumar has more than 15 years of experience in ophthalmic businesses including leadership positions in the fields of market development, business development and marketing. Prior to joining VisionCare, Kumar served in marketing positions with Oculex Pharmaceuticals, a company that was acquired by Allergan.   "We are very pleased to have Chet leading our sales and market development teams. He has played a pivotal role in the growth of VisionCare, development of its CentraSight treatment program, and creation of patient access through coverage and reimbursement.
